LaLa Land
We’re here! Landed at 1pm yesterday and Kit met us (on time!) from LAX. We’ve checked into the Seashore Motel (we rate it 7/10) and had a tasty dinner last night on 3rd Street (corner of Santa Monica Boulevard) – think it was called Tavola… 3 courses for $25 and they were all delicious and enormous (we rate it 8/10)! Mooched round the shops for a bit, then headed home for an early night.
Today we’ve been to Venice beach, as the weather forecast had got it totally wrong (they’d predicted rain) and the sun was blazing. Walked all along the front where the crusties and crazys hang out selling sequinned skulls, “your name carved in a rock”, novelty sunglasses and all manner of other tat. Lots of great people-watching to be had here; almost totally tattooed man with tiny dog, stoner with a sign saying “in need of weed, contributions welcome”, hairy biker dude chillaxing with his mate and a clan of punks/punkers encrusted in studs, leather and piercings.
Not impressed by Whaler Bar & Grill where we went for a drink and a bite to eat (terrible, slow service and mediocre/not good food – we rate it 3/10) – we didn’t tip as they were taking so long to bring the bill and the rest of the meal had been so terrible, we just left the money and went.
The boys are having a rest now while I mess about on t’internet, powering up for this evening…
More updates soon.
Love Gude x

Yeah, looking at the sky is always better than a weather forecast.

Wooooo!!! I love the blog!!! It’s so exciting! For a moment I can pretend that I’m not in the grey box at Ogilvy, with annoying marketing-speak burbling out of the fish bowl behind me. Keep it updated! xx

Did they tell you bout the peanuts? I cant remember if it was Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin but one of them took one of the peanut shells to the moon lol xx anyway good memories, hope you both are collecting lots more to share xxx 😀
